UNIQUE COMMITTEE MEMBER
I have been trans* for as long as I can remember, at least from my early teens. Like most of us I went through periods of self doubt and purging of clothes and shoes and all the other things we girls collect through life. Eventually a sense of self acceptance set in and the enjoyment began. Being married with children, I was dressing for only short periods of time, very occasionally.
My wife tolerated my little hobby though she never really understood it. When the children had left home I could indulge a lot more. Now I try to live in female mode as much as possible; I attend every trans* weekend I can, go out shopping, and go to restaurants with friends, who have been very supportive and encouraging.
If I can help, support and encourage any of the girls out there who are struggling to come to terms with their true selves, I would only be too happy. I look forward to working with the rest of the Unique committee to move forward Trans* issues.
